For actsHosts and comedians

Paid gigs for quiz hosts, karaoke hosts, comedians and magicians at pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels across the UK.

Pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels near you post quiz nights, karaoke, bingo and comedy nights. Then they ask you to host or perform. You keep every penny of your price.

The venue’s money is secured before the night. It’s in your account within two working days of the night. If you’re booked at short notice, it’s three working days after the booking instead.

Free to join. Nothing taken from your fee. No tie-in. Launching Friday 20 November.

Hosts

Your night.
Every week.

A pub that loves its quiz wants the same host every week. When a venue asks you back, it can book you for the same night every week. Each one is still its own booking, so you can stop whenever you like.

Your fee for one night

One pub, one night a week

£7,200a year

£600 a month, 48 weeks a year with four weeks off. £14,400 with a second pub.

Example only. What you earn depends on venues near you and the price you set.

£80 to £180

About 2 hours with a break. You bring the questions and the answer sheets.

Outside London, for a typical night. London, weekends and December usually pay more. Set your own price. Whatever you charge, you keep all of it.

Before you say yes

Know the
night first.

Every request comes with the night spec from the venue: the format, the kit, who puts up the prizes and how clean it needs to be. You know exactly what you’re walking into. If it doesn’t suit you, turn it down.

For you

No turning up to find there’s no mic, or a room full of kids for your late set.

For the venue

Fill it in once. It’s saved for every night they post, so every host arrives ready.

Comedians

One spot.
Or the bill.

Pubs with a back room can run a comedy night through Packed Out. They book an MC, an opener, a middle and a headliner. Each act sets their own fee, gets the same night spec and is paid separately.

Middle spot. Straight after the break. 15 to 20 minutes to build towards the headliner. £90, all yours.

Your material

Clean
or 18+?

Mark your act clean, 18+ or both. Venues filter by it and the night spec says which they need, so you’re never booked into a family Sunday with a late-night set.

4 of these 8 nights can book you

  • Table magic at a hotel dinner
  • Office Christmas party
  • Family comedy afternoon
  • Charity night at the local
  • Late comedy night in the back room
  • Friday headline set
  • Hen and stag parties
  • Midnight cabaret show

What venues see

Your page.
Video first.

Venues pick hosts and comedians by watching them. Your page leads with a video of a real night, then what you run, your price and when you’re free. Every gig you play adds a review.

Every spot, priced

Add your opener, middle, headline and MC prices. A venue building a bill sees exactly what you cost for each.

Your bills, on show

Every night you play is listed on your page with the venue and your spot. The more bills, the more asks.

Badges open more nights

Add insurance or a PAT test and it shows as a badge. Venues that ask for them can book you. Tap the grey badge to see what changes.

Sell more than one night

Add music bingo or karaoke alongside your quiz, each with its own price. One venue can book you for three different nights.

Already host somewhere?

Bring your
pubs along.

Add the pubs you already host at and we’ll send each one an invite from you. Once they’re on, they book you through Packed Out. Their money is secured before the night and lands with you two working days after. No more chasing the landlord at closing time.

Your price stays the same. The pub pays 15% on top as a booking fee, never more than £50 a night. We tell them that up front.

What they get from you

Hi, it’s Dan from The Fireside Quiz. I’m taking my bookings through Packed Out now, so please book me there for The Plough. My price stays at £150. Packed Out adds a 15% booking fee on top, so £22.50 a night. For that you get a backup host if I’m ever ill and no invoices from me to deal with.

Example. Nothing is sent from this page.

What you need

Start with a video.
Add the rest later.

You don’t need insurance or PAT tests to join. Each venue says on the night whether it needs them. Add them once and more nights open up.

Email us and we’ll get back to you. Everything else, from posting a night to getting paid, happens in the app.

None. Joining is free, always. You only pay when you book: 15% on top of the act’s price, never more than £50. Food trucks are a flat £50.

When you accept a booking. We hold your money safely and only pay the act once the night’s gone ahead. If the night doesn’t happen, you get it all back.

That’s the Backup Promise. We find you a replacement. If we can’t, you get every penny back.

Every act’s profile shows reviews from other venues and what we’ve checked. Need public liability insurance or PAT-tested kit? Tick it when you post the night. Only acts who have it can say yes. Food trucks always need a hygiene rating.

Keep them. Bring them onto Packed Out and book everyone in one place, with the same checks and the same money held safely until the night.

If you can send a text, you can use it. Posting a night takes about a minute. The app walks you through every step.

No. No minimum nights, no monthly fee. Book when you want, stop when you want.

We work with pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels across the UK. Acts choose how far they’ll travel, so you only see people who’ll actually come to you.

Not always. Many ask for a meal or a stay. Some charge a fee too. What they’ll post and what they get is agreed in writing before they walk in.

No. It’s free to join and we take nothing from your fee. We charge the venue, so you keep every penny of your price.

The venue’s payment is secured before the night. It’s released once the night’s done and lands in your account within two working days of the night. If you’re booked at short notice, it’s three working days after the booking instead.

Yes. If a venue likes you, they can ask you back for the same night every week. Each night is still its own booking, so you can stop whenever you like.

The venue. The night spec says what the prizes are and who runs any jackpot, before you accept.

Not always. Every request says what the venue has. Say on your page what you bring and venues without kit can still book you.

Either. Venues can book a single spot or build a full bill with an MC, an opener, a middle and a headliner. Each act sets their own fee and is paid separately.

Mark it on your page. Venues filter by clean or 18+, so you’re only asked for nights that suit your set.

Only when a venue asks. Each night says whether it needs them. Add them once and every night that needs them opens up to you.

As a rough guide outside London, £80 to £180 for a pub quiz and £40 to £150 for a comedy spot. Set your own price. You keep all of it.

Keep them. Invite them on and book through Packed Out. You get paid on time, every time, without chasing.
